Perhaps I'm looking in the wrong place, but in the demo site, I'm looking for the location of the GetSplashImageXml function. I'm trying to create a new Global Type that will accept an image an a link. If the link is blank, it will just create an img tag, if there's a link, it will create an <img> inside an anchor "<a>".

The splash image in the demo looks like an interesting model to follow to include a banner image on pages, some with links, some without. However, it makes a call to GetSplashImageXml. This function isn't in C# functions of XSLT functions. It's in ALL functions, but I can't edit it from there and I can't find the source in Visual Studio.

Am I going about this the wrong way?

It is a function that gets automatically created based on the data type "SplashImage". Every time a data type is created, a C1 Function named "(type namespace).(type name).Get(type name)Xml" is created, enabling getting XML (and filtering, sorting, projection etc.).

In other words, you should get a C1 Function similar to GetSplashImageXml once you create your own data type :)
