Hi all,

I have a website developed using Composite C1 2.1.1  http://www.ifund.hk

During the offline development, everything worked fine. However, when we upload it to live webserver, strange problem happen.

Under Show all news : Clicking the link news link, 4/10 times, it won't work !!

Similar things happen to the Blog module, 4/10 times, we can't expand the Blog news to a full page.

It doesn't seem to be the problem of Chinese URL text as we have the same issue with the English URL.

We checked everything and cleared the cache folder but unable to resolve the issue.

Can somebody help us here ?

Thanks

Hi @ooo3

Are there any exceptions in log files /App_Data/Composite/LogFiles/*.txt ?

Hi Napemik,

There are some exceptions in the log folder. But I can't find anything consistent and related to this issue. We have this issue on live site for more than a month now and we can't find a reason.

I have zipped up the whole log folder here.

Thanks

Most likely it is already fixed in the last (but not yet published) version of the blog module.

1) To try it out, download packages sources from http://c1packages.codeplex.com/SourceControl/changeset/view/7953

The file you need is /Composite.Community.Blog/Composite.Community.Blog.Package/Package/Bin/Composite.Community.Blog.dll

2) In /Bin folder of your site, rename Composite.Community.Blog.dll  to Composite.Community.Blog.temp

3) Copy the Composite.Community.Blog.dll file you downloaded from codeplex to /Bin folder of your site

4) Check that blog is working

Hi Napenik,

Thanks again for helping.

I have followed your instruction to download the new changeset and replaced the blog.dll on the server. Then, I have restarted the IIS server. However, the problem is still there.

Please note that the same issue happen to News and Blog modules of Composite C1.

Cleared the the cache, restarted IIS, restarted Composite C1 engine doesn't help.

I would be really appreciated if you could help me here.

Thanks

Also replaced the latest Composite.News.dll ... both News and Blog module are still having the same issue.

The current site http://www.ifund.hk has the replaced dll as instructed.

No luck here.

Try turning of ASP.NET Full Page Caching - edit ~/Renderers/Page.aspx and delete the cache directive.

@Napernik,

WOwow..Thanks. That's resolved the frontpage news module issue. However, the Blog module http://www.ifund.hk/zh/Investors/BLOG.aspx still have the issue.

I hope we can find the solution for the blog module too.

By the way, what is the cause of the issue ?

Thanks again for your help.

>> By the way, what is the cause of the issue ?

I'm not sure yet. The asp.net caching means that each page is cached for 1 minutes, disabling it allows frontpage to be rerendered each time.

It still doesn't explain what's wrong with blog module, but if you can provide me with a copy of the website I'll do some debugging. My email is "ddz at composite.net"

@ooo3 I tried it locally, and it works without problem. So it IS server specific. On what windows version/IIS the live site is running?

You're right. My local test server also has not problem.

My live platform is win2008 R2 with IIS 7.5

Thanks

Problems were solved by upgrading to the latest build of C1, Blog & News packages.
