site home page?

What determines which page is the site's home page?  i had a home page with the URL title set to "test" and saved it.  Then when i browsed "http://localhost:36861/" it automatically redirected me to http://localhost:36861/test.aspx.

Then I went in and changed the home page URL title to Index, but the root of the site "http://localhost:36861/" is still redirecting me to http://localhost:36861/test.aspx.  Where is this configured?

This is due to your browser caching the first redirect that happended. If you clear the browsers cache and go to http://localhost:36861 you should see it redirecting you correctly to http://localhost:36861/Index.aspx

thanks. I tried ctrl+f5 thinking that would work but apparently it didn't.

how can i get the home page to show up as just "http://localhost:36861/" instead of automatically redirecting me to "whatever.aspx"?  is there always going to be an .aspx extension in the url?

Current beta has this functionality implemented, both showing home page on just a hostname link (http://localhost:36861/) and removing ".aspx" extensions. If you're willing to try beta, you can either get the latest changeset or follow upgrade steps described here

actually the extensions less thing has been possible to live without since January this year and if you still want to go with the official release of 2.1.1 you also get it, just look at http://compositec1contrib.codeplex.com/

Hi kcwebmonkey

In version 2.1.3 (which is now beta), you can configure how your URLs are built. See more at http://docs.composite.net/UrlConfiguration

I've always used Shift+F5 to refresh and clear caches.
