Hi

I have just read the guides
http://docs.composite.net/C1/Console/CreatingFormControls.aspx
http://docs.composite.net/C1/Console/Creatingformfunctions.aspx

But what they can be used for in C1, is not clear. Some screenshots of where in admin, or a small video will just be perfect :-)

The guides how to use the functions is really good, but some times, how to use them is not that clear.

Hi neess,

Thank you for your feedback. We will consider updating this documentation.

In the meantime :) -

1. http://docs.composite.net/C1/Console/CreatingFormControls.aspx

When you add or edit an item of a specific type in, say, the Data perspective, you work with data forms. Each field of the type is represented with a specific widget (field control) on the form. (You can actually select widgets other than default ones where possible and if needed: http://docs.composite.net/C1/Data/A-Guide-to-Creating-Datatypes.aspx/Widgets)

You can create an ASPX control and make it available in C1 so that you could use it with a field on such a form.

2. http://docs.composite.net/C1/Console/Creatingformfunctions.aspx

Some controls/widgets on the form might be meaningless without pre-defined values, for example, a dropdown list (selector).

Of course, you can select a Data Reference filed type and point it to a specific data types. The items of this type will populate this control as values automatically.

But you can also populate such a control with values with Form Functions - if needed.
